Latest Reviews

Whats Happens In Vegas - *** - LOL Funny. Cameron & Ash make this movie.

The Strangers - **** - This movie got yuck reviews, Im not sure why, possibly the ending that leaves you in question. Super scary, would not suggest watching at home alone. The only thing I didn't like is the reference that it comes from a true story but doesn't provide any info regarding that. Inquiring minds want to know.

88 Minutes * - Don't waste your time, its a sleeper that you will know the ending too by the beginning. Terrible for a flick with Pacino in it.

Made of Honor ** - Funny, but not too funny, more like the reverse of one with Julia Roberts.

Hellboy ** - I guess this for me like the 2nd part of the Matrix Trilogy, it is just a lead on to the next movie. The graphics were great and you know its leading up to another one, but it just didn't do it for me.

Tortured ** - I didn't see the end coming, it was pretty twited and suspenceful, but for whatever reason, I stopped and started it because I got bored with it.

Indiana Jones & Crystal Skull ** - I just have a problems with throwing aliens in the mix of an Idiana Jones theme. This movie was too busy and like with the National Treasue sequel, they should have just left well enough alone.

Sex & The City *** - I did not keep up with the show past its first season, but the movie was great.

The Forbidden Kingdom *** - This movies seems to be remade and renamed but I really enjoyed watching Jackie Chan and Jet Li work together.

Got Some New Ones

Well too bad after the batch of movies I had last, it was going to hard pressed to compete.

Drillbit Taylor ** 2 stars. It is what it is folks. Funny and slapstick funny

Vantage Point *** 3 stars Excellent Movie with a great plot and true suspense.

Meet The Browns ** 2 stars This movie was not at all as good or funny as the last movies. It was really far fetched to think of Angela Bassett as a "Young Mother" and even farther for the fella she falls for. I love that Perry tries to uplift black people in his messages with his movies it just gets a tad soapoperaish and silly at times. The Madea scene was the worst so far. Madea made him famous, please don't do her character that much injustice.

* 1 star - 10,000 BC Man the star I gave this no plot having movie was for the sound and special effects that I noticed on surround sound. The rest was complete and total CRAP. Boo Hiss.

As I was checkin out the 4 For $20 sale at blockbuster I got a few older hits Id recommend:

*** 3 Stars - I Am LegendI get the major plot of lonliness, but it got a little too stagnant before we ever even get to see what all the fear is about. You have to be sitting still for this one because its timeline goes back and forth. Special effects were great.

*** 3 stars Hostel III like Hostel more or less because it instills true fear. It is hard to scare the American public anymore. This type stuff could really be happening and it doesn't necessarily have to be overseas. Small towns in America could be bought and used just like this town in Slovakia. It was a little faster paced than the first and I could see it coming.

*** 4 Stars. The Reaping is a great movie. It keeps you guessing. The religious aspects play a role and its message is a good one

** 2 Stars The Mist For a Stephen King book gone movie it wasn't too bad. I love his reads but his movies usually lack alot to be desired. The end was hard to swallow, but this is sooo Stephen King.

*** 3 Stars Next was a great movie, you can't possibly see thru the suspense and Nicholas Cage is simply turned out to be a wonderful actor. You just can't help but love his characters.

DVD June Rental Reviews

Bucket List: **** 4 Star Movie - Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are a real hoot in this movie depicting what they choose to do with the last months of their lives. Laughter thru tears is my favorite emotion. This is a must see. Best movie I have watched in a long time.
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins **** 4 Star Movie - This movie will have you rollin. Most families can relate to coming home after several years for a family reunion. If you don't live in the same town as your family, you tend to grow so far apart that its hard to relate to anything that didn't stem from the years growing up. I laughed and laughed. Everybody in the family has watched it more than once. Little grown up humor for the kiddies, but not too bad. Cedric, Martin and Monique make this movie.
Jumper *** 3 Stars - Jumper is a clever tale of what it would be like to teleport anywhere at anytime. Hayden Christianson does a great job. Even those of my people that really don't care for sci-fi enjoyed this one. It has a twisted "Good v/s Evil" plot. I can't give too much away, so just go ahead and check it out..

Fools Gold ** 2 Stars - To me this movie was Sahara made over with Kate Hudson. The bitter bickering of a soon-to-be divorced couple has its laughs here and there. We all know well what Matt looks like w/o a shirt on and he is still manhunk of the year, but I wish they would give him a new story line, this one has gotten old and played out. If you want to see 2 beautiful people find the hidden treasure, than this ones for you.

The Eye ** 2 Stars - I expected more from this film. I have like a lot of what Jessical Alba has been in but this wasn't her best picture. Felt like I was watching a twisted version of "The Sixth Sense" only she wasn't born with it, it was surgically inhanced, LOL. If your bored and you have nothing better to do, rent this, otherwise pass it up and find another flick.

Awake **2 1/2 Stars - Again, I expected more from this flick. I would have hoped with the diversity of this cast that it would have been a better movie. The lucky thing for all people involved in this flick is that most people can relate to the fear of anesthesia awareness. Alls well that ends well right. The plot does thicken toward the end so I willing to give it a half star more than the eye....

0 Stars - Both Meet The Spartans & Rambo are ranking highly on my stink-o-meter. I guess they thought since they were re-making Die-Hard(stunk) and Indiana Jones(?) they needed to go backward and re-do Rambo as well. Nope they should have put that idea back in the closet. It is just soo hard to put Sly back in that category again. Not only that but if it weren't for all the new age graphics, these poor aging actors couldn't even consider these re-makes. I will give Sly this, he still has washboard abs. As for, Meet The Spartans - who watches this crap? I know they have a select audience when they make these types of crap films. They take slapstick comedy and crude/rude to another level. Both of these were a total waste of my time and money.
*** 3 Stars - Enchanted & Alvin & The Chipmunks
I started this out on a positive note and I shall end it on one as well. My daughter loved both of these movies. The music factor plays a big part with her. She walked around the house singing "Thats How U Know Your In Love" for days after watching Enchanted and then I have seen Alvin at least 3 times this weekend because of the repeat affair she has with DVD watching. I really didn't get into it all the way, but knowing it kept her attention more than once is good enough for me.
