DVD June Rental Reviews

Bucket List: **** 4 Star Movie - Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are a real hoot in this movie depicting what they choose to do with the last months of their lives. Laughter thru tears is my favorite emotion. This is a must see. Best movie I have watched in a long time.
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins **** 4 Star Movie - This movie will have you rollin. Most families can relate to coming home after several years for a family reunion. If you don't live in the same town as your family, you tend to grow so far apart that its hard to relate to anything that didn't stem from the years growing up. I laughed and laughed. Everybody in the family has watched it more than once. Little grown up humor for the kiddies, but not too bad. Cedric, Martin and Monique make this movie.
Jumper *** 3 Stars - Jumper is a clever tale of what it would be like to teleport anywhere at anytime. Hayden Christianson does a great job. Even those of my people that really don't care for sci-fi enjoyed this one. It has a twisted "Good v/s Evil" plot. I can't give too much away, so just go ahead and check it out..

Fools Gold ** 2 Stars - To me this movie was Sahara made over with Kate Hudson. The bitter bickering of a soon-to-be divorced couple has its laughs here and there. We all know well what Matt looks like w/o a shirt on and he is still manhunk of the year, but I wish they would give him a new story line, this one has gotten old and played out. If you want to see 2 beautiful people find the hidden treasure, than this ones for you.

The Eye ** 2 Stars - I expected more from this film. I have like a lot of what Jessical Alba has been in but this wasn't her best picture. Felt like I was watching a twisted version of "The Sixth Sense" only she wasn't born with it, it was surgically inhanced, LOL. If your bored and you have nothing better to do, rent this, otherwise pass it up and find another flick.

Awake **2 1/2 Stars - Again, I expected more from this flick. I would have hoped with the diversity of this cast that it would have been a better movie. The lucky thing for all people involved in this flick is that most people can relate to the fear of anesthesia awareness. Alls well that ends well right. The plot does thicken toward the end so I willing to give it a half star more than the eye....

0 Stars - Both Meet The Spartans & Rambo are ranking highly on my stink-o-meter. I guess they thought since they were re-making Die-Hard(stunk) and Indiana Jones(?) they needed to go backward and re-do Rambo as well. Nope they should have put that idea back in the closet. It is just soo hard to put Sly back in that category again. Not only that but if it weren't for all the new age graphics, these poor aging actors couldn't even consider these re-makes. I will give Sly this, he still has washboard abs. As for, Meet The Spartans - who watches this crap? I know they have a select audience when they make these types of crap films. They take slapstick comedy and crude/rude to another level. Both of these were a total waste of my time and money.
*** 3 Stars - Enchanted & Alvin & The Chipmunks
I started this out on a positive note and I shall end it on one as well. My daughter loved both of these movies. The music factor plays a big part with her. She walked around the house singing "Thats How U Know Your In Love" for days after watching Enchanted and then I have seen Alvin at least 3 times this weekend because of the repeat affair she has with DVD watching. I really didn't get into it all the way, but knowing it kept her attention more than once is good enough for me.
